Manias: What did you feel during the final at Pasadena in 1994?
Were you afraid of making a mistake?
GP: Yes, I was very scared of making a mistake, but then you
start thinking only about the game to be played and the fear
goes away.
Tanti Susilawati (Indonesia): I had read that Gianluca ran a
disco called "Fragole amare" and decorative lampshade
company with his mother Maria Rosa. Are those businesses still
around?
GP: I have a bar at Casalecchio called "Round Cafe"
and a tanning salon called "Progetto Sole".
Angelo (Belgio): If you find a team where you will be able to
play as a starter and do well... Seeing how Donadoni used to
be your teammate on the national team, if he called you up again,
would you go?
GP: I don't think he would call me, because I am over 40 years
old.
Do you keep up with Donadoni at all or not, since he played
for Milan? What do you think of his national team?
GP: He was my teammate but it's been a long time since I've
seen him. I like the national team the way it is.
How
can one write to Gianluca now? Can fans send cards and letters
to the address of Sistema Solare or will it be too much work
for you?
GP: You can certainly send them here.

How is Gianluca keeping in shape while he's waiting? Is he working
with a coach, an amateur team, or is he working alone? Where
does he practice?
GP: Right now I'm working out on my own at Isokinetic, a physical
therapy center here in Bologna.
Would he consider a team from abroad a la Beckham or would he
prefer to stay in Italy? Are there ongoing talks with any teams?
GP: I prefer to remain in Italy, and there are some ongoing
talks.
Davide Mariella: Where will you play this year? I live in Treviso
and a friend told me that there was a chance you would come
here... But then I heard that they took Calderoni...
GP: I was hoping to return to Inter, but it all depended on
Toldo.
Marco
Mennella: I hope with all my heart that the rumors that put
him back at Inter will come true and that Gianluca will find
a warm welcome from Inter fans who loved him so much before.
GP: Thank you, but unfortunately there is nothing to be done
about Inter anymore.
If there is no offer in several weeks' time, will you set your
sights on next year, or will you think of stopping?
GP: This year I'll keep waiting, next year I'll stop.
What do Mattia and Aurora think, do they like having daddy at
home more often than last year, at least for the time being?
What does he do at home?
GP: They are very happy, Mattia especially is very glad to have
dad always available.
How is your relationship with Puma? Are you continuing to make
ads?
GP: For the moment we're not in contact anymore.
Civolani's nice book "Pagliuca, the life of a number 1",
talks about your parents, but not grandparents. Did you know
them? Was it a significant relationship? Were they from Bologna?
Do you have other relatives, cousins maybe?
GP: Unfortunately I never met my grandparents on my mother's
side, but I did meet my father's parents. I have some aunts
and cousins on my mother's side. I
How do you get along with Aurora's parents and the rest of her
family? Where do they live, at Castelgofreddo?
GP: Yes, they are a very nice family, and they all live in Castelgofreddo.
Aurora, are you an only child or do you have brothers and sisters?
AP: I have three brothers.
Gianluca, if something is not going well, or if you need advice,
who do you turn to? Does it depend on the business at hand,
or is there a person to whom you almost always listen?
GP: I turn to my agent, Vincenzo Rispoli.
Aurora, what about you, is there someone among your friends
who is a sort of an "oracle"?
AP: I have some trusted friends with whom I like to share things,
but generally I do as I decide.
