Interview for Viva Pagliuca! 24/04/2007

Gianluca, how are you feeling, ready to return to the field? There are six games left until the end, will you make it?
GP: I would be ready to come back, but I haven't been put in play.

The site of Gazzetta dello Sport this weekend omitted your name from Ascoli's roster. Are they great, or what?
GP:
I don't know, I'll have to check.

Name a sports journalist, from the past or present, whom you respect the most.
GP: To tell the truth, there are a number of journalists whom I respect. But I won't name names.

To get news, do you watch TV or go on the computer? What types of news do you follow?
GP: TV. A bit of everything, sports especially.

What news, good or bad, has made the most impression on you in the last week?
GP: News concerning kids make a powerful impression on me. Lately a lot of terrible things on that topic have been on the news.

To catch up with friends, do you prefer e-mail, SMS, or phone calls?
GP: SMS, without a doubt!

Do you go online often? And Aurora?
GP: I'm not a web surfer. Aurora, on the contrary, has become a diligent navigator since she opened her shop.

Which sites do you visit for news or fun?
GP: I don't visit any sites really, at most I look over what you have made here for me!

According to you, is the Internet a useful thing?
GP: It's certainly useful to those who can navigate it.

Would you like to have a guestbook on Viva Pagliuca? We used to have one earlier, but people don't always write compliments, so we had to clean it up a lot.
GP: Make one just for the compliments!

What do you do when you encounter hostile fans outside of the stadium? At Milan, with two big teams, did you have unpleasant run-ins with AC Milan fans?
GP: Sometimes I try to ignore them. And unfortunately I have had quite a lot of encounters with unpleasant fans.

How do you respond if criticisms come from the fans of your own team? Are those more difficult to listen to?
GP: Yes, they annoy me more.

How did you respond when you were younger, in school or on the field, if someone teased you? If people did tease you, why?
GP: When I was a boy I tried to respond with facts if I was provoked.

On the field, you always say your piece when you have something to say; same in your daily life?
GP: Yes, for sure.

And how about Aurora, does she speak her mind freely or is she reserved?
GP: Aurora speaks freely, too.

Aurora, how are things going at Sistema Solare?
AP: I am very satisfied with this business and happy that I got it going.

The three partners, Aurora, Cristina and Lorenza, how did you meet?
AP: Cristina was already Gianluca's partner in another salon. I met Lorenza through one of Gianluca's friends, she was that friend's girlfriend.

For each of you, what is the most pleasant thing in this adventure? Does it correspond to your particular talents?
AP: I'm responding for all of us: the best thing is human contact, and since all three of us are very open and sociable, it fits us very well.

Is it a difficult business to run?
AP: As in everything, you need common sense and a willingness to work. But it's certainly not tiring work.

For tanning, do you prefer the booths or the beds?
AP: All three of us prefer the beds.

What is the strangest request that you have received from a client?
AP: To spread cream on their back or to stay in the booth with them because they were afraid.

Years ago Gianluca was a partner in another salon, Planeta Sole. Does it still exist?
AP: Yes, as I said before, Cristina is his partner there, along with Ermanno, Alfiero, and Willy of AW Progetto Sole (non Planeta Sole)

Does Gianluca still own the Tribeca restaurant?
GP: Not anymore.
