Next Saturday is going to be a “pulp
fiction evening. At the Olympic stadium there will be Rorna-Bologna, and
Gianluca Pagliuca already imagines it will be a show only for adult people.
"Roma players will be hungry for
blood, after the very bad defeat against Como. We absolutely have to win, and
we must be aware that our opponents will be ready to take advantage from any
our little mistake".
Let’s get to the recent past, that burns
because of some mistake. Avoidable mistakes, that some week ago, in the
goalkeepers opinion, would have never been done by Bologna.
"We would have never allowed this kind
of goal before. We have to improve ourselves. We’re not doing well, and we hope
to get a good result at Rome".
Maybe the team has been conditioned by some
kind of not winning fear?
"I couldn’t say. But even if we
dominated the match, getting much more ball possession, surely the first sudden
goal conditioned our performance. In second half we thought that we could even
win the match, but then their second goal happened. In the end, analyzing the
match, you realize that the result is a good one".
After the winter-break, the scores are not
the same as before. During only three games, the bending, Pagliuca says, can
happen.
"During a season it is normal to live
a period of bending. It is also normal a physiological decreasing. Important.
The important thing is to recover as soon as possible. It is logical to have
some bad period, and not only in the defensive zone".
Then Pagliuca finds something positive in
this choral bending.
"It means that we all are in tune,
this fact that we all together are not in a good condition. Now our job is to
analyze this match and our mistakes".
Which means the allowed goals.
"The first one happened because of bad
luck: Renato Olive head-deflected the ball. The second one came out from a
rebound, and it’s not a matter of bad luck; it was our fault".
And Pagliuca distributes these mistakes
among all the team players: not only defense, but also midfield and offense.
Time to go all together at work, trying to find again themselves.
